About

Xu Feng (shoo-fung) is a Chinese jazz pianist now living in the United States.

Xu began classical piano training at age five. When he started learning jazz piano at the age of 18, his life changed after playing jazz with other musicians. The music was fantastic, but the connection he felt with the other musicians was indescribable. His training was guided and praised by many jazz masters in China such as Oleg Roschin, Boris Acosta, Tian Bai, and Shihai Li. He has years of performance experience with a wide range of ensembles from duo to big band, including three years as the pianist in the NUA Jazz Big Band. Through constant research and exploration, he has combined jazz with more diverse music to form his own unique musical style.
